Privacy policy
City Heat is operated from Cyprus. This page explains what we collect when you use cityheat.app and what we do with it. Contact for anything privacy related: business@cityheat.app.
1. Visitors
- Searches. When you search a city we store the city name, the time, and your approximate location (country, region and city) as reported by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address.
- Page views. We record which page was viewed, the time, the same approximate location, and the website you came from. To count how many different people visit, your browser keeps a random identifier in its local storage. It is not linked to your name, email or device, and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data.
- No advertising cookies. We set no cookies for visitors. The only cookie on the site is the one that keeps our own administrator logged in.
- Hosting. The site runs on Vercel, which processes requests (including IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect the service, under its own privacy policy.
2. Venues that buy a featured slot
- We store the venue name, city, country, category, the description you write, your contact email, the dates of the slot, and a reference to your Stripe payment.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
- Email. We send you a confirmation, a decision on your slot, and any refund notices, using Resend as our email provider. We may reply to your emails from the same address.
- We keep booking records for as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes, typically 7 years.
3. Where the rankings come from
Rankings are produced by an automated system that reads publicly available web content about a city. We do not collect personal data of the people who posted that content, and we only store the resulting list of places.
4. Third party links
Booking links go to services such as TheFork, GetYourGuide, Google Maps, Instagram and TikTok. Some are affiliate links, which means the destination may learn that you came from City Heat. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email business@cityheat.app and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version.
